Lisa Fedyszyn and Jonathan McMahon are regarded as one of Australasia’s most successful creative teams and CCOs, this year they were named Campaign UK Global Creative Leaders of the Year. But they’re proudest of being part of the team that helped Special win Campaign UK Global Creative Agency of the Year in 2023 & 2024.
It’s their passion for creating effective work that makes a positive impact on culture and brands - throughout their career they have brought TV characters back from the dead for their “Last Performance”, in a prime time TV show, to talk to New Zealand’s under-insured. Have helped a man living with Motor Neurone Disease sell his unusable belongings in a digital timeline reflective of his deterioration, created the “Most entertaining recruitment film” (and most successful) for the New Zealand Police, which saw the largest intake of female and representative recruits ever, encouraged overseas New Zealanders to “Meddle” in their own election, which saw seats in parliament shift for the first time since 1938. And moved Kathmandu from being a brand parents wear, to one their kids embrace with the help of a Merman and Owl DJ with “Summer Never Sleeps”.
Having worked across the Australian, New Zealand, and North American markets, including Droga5 New York, DDB Aotearoa, Colenso BBDO, and now Special, Lisa and Jonathan have consistently created innovative campaigns, that have won Grand Prix and Gold Lions at Cannes, Best in Discipline and Gold Pencils at One Show, and 18 pencils, including Yellow, at D&AD. They’ve also won Gold Effies, Webbys, 3 Best in Show at AXIS, and WARC Grand Prix for Effectiveness.
Oh, and when they were young, Lisa and Jonathan were named in Young Guns Top 10 Creatives of the Decade. Ah, those were the days. We think. We can’t quite remember, it was a long time ago.
